Flock and Rally Promotes Mary Kate Korpita to Director of Brand Strategy

Flock and Rally, a full-service, women-owned communications and marketing agency based in Columbia, S.C., has announced the promotion of Mary Kate Korpita to director of brand strategy. Korpita, who transitioned into this new leadership role in July 2021, manages the strategic development of brands for Flock and Rally clients, overseeing the agency’s research, brand development and refinement, marketing strategy and planning, and website design and development. “Mary Kate is a vital part of the Flock and Rally team and oversees some of our most complex, multi-layered client projects,” says Merritt McNeely, executive vice president at Flock and Rally. “We are excited for her to step into this leadership role and expand our agency’s brand, strategy and web capabilities.”

Korpita manages some of the agency’s most significant accounts, including global tech firm NTT DATA, the National Science Foundation-funded Engineering Research and Visioning Alliance (ERVA), national nonprofit Medicare Rights Center, NAI Columbia, the South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health (IMPH), Richland First Steps and Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community. Additionally, she has been an integral team member on the following award-winning projects:

  • SCPRSA Silver Wing Award of Excellence in Research and Evaluation for EngenuitySC’s 2019 buyer persona research.

  • SCPRSA Silver Wing Award of Excellence in Research and Evaluation for Building Families’ 2019 brand research and redesign.

Prior to joining Flock and Rally in 2019, she worked in Dallas, Texas for global communications marketing firm Edelman, where she specialized in content development, strategic planning and internal communications. Through her work with Edelman Intelligence, the firm’s global research and analytics consultancy, she analyzed trends and incorporated research into media relations efforts for her clients.

Korpita attended the University of South Carolina and earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. She currently serves as marketing committee co-chair on the board of Historic Columbia's Palladium Society. Mary Kate serves on the host committee of the Annual I Believe Anita Hill Celebration and enjoys networking with brilliant minds across the Palmetto State.
