Job Description
Overview of Position
Flock and Rally Integrated Communications & Marketing, a dynamic, women-owned agency based in Columbia, S.C., is seeking a communications intern to join our team of #Flockstars. The internship program offers an opportunity to be immersed in the day-to-day of a full-service marketing and communications agency and gain hands-on experience.
The communications intern will support the Channel Strategy Departments, which includes public relations, social media and digital communications. This intern works closely with the Channel Strategy team to assist with client campaigns, create engaging content and support PR outreach. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented and eager to develop their communications skills.
This is a paid internship and does not guarantee employment at the completion of the program.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Public Relations: Assists in drafting press releases, developing press kit materials, media alerts and pitches, compiling media lists, supporting press events, organizing reports and conducting outreach to secure earned media coverage.
Digital Communications: Supports email marketing efforts by drafting content, managing lists and analyzing campaign performance. Assists with digital content for websites and newsletters and blogs, ensuring alignment with brand messaging.
Research & Analysis: Conducts research on media trends, influencer opportunities and industry best practices to support PR strategies. Assists in analyzing digital metrics and reporting on key campaign performance indicators.
Administrative Support: Provides project organization, scheduling, file management and other duties as assigned.
Skills and requirements
Self-starter with the ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A knack for developing fresh ideas, a desire to experiment and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to different voices, audiences and platforms.
Candidate must live in the Columbia, S.C. region. While the agency observes a hybrid and flexible work environment, interns must be regularly available for local meetings and client needs.
Program structure
This position will start in June 2025 and run through December 2025.
Office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Interns will be required to work 10-15 hours/week.
Compensation for this internship is $12/hour.
