South Carolina State Museum
Media training
The South Carolina State Museum hired Flock and Rally to provide tailored media training for key staff members to equip them with the skills necessary for effective and sensitive communication, particularly in potential crisis situations. The goal was to build confidence and consistency across the team when engaging with the media and the public.
The interactive training included mock interviews and scenario-based exercises set in a variety of real-world settings, such as a newsroom, on-site at the museum and at a public event. These situations gave participants the opportunity to practice handling tough questions, stay on message and adapt their communication style.
Flock and Rally also developed an interview best practices guide and provided takeaway training resources. These materials reinforced key learnings and provided staff with tools to communicate clearly, stay on brand, and respond effectively.
This project helped strengthen the museum’s ability to manage its public voice with professionalism and care — while supporting its broader mission to serve as a trusted, community-focused cultural institution.
