Overview of Position

Flock and Rally Integrated Communications & Marketing, a progressive, women-owned agency based in Columbia, South Carolina, is seeking an advertising strategist to join our team of #Flockstars.

This is a full-time position focused primarily on elevating the stories of our amazing clients through strategic placement of campaign messaging (AKA among paid advertising channels). As a broad thinker and a multi-tasker, you will have direct responsibility for weaving together insights from relevant audiences to create and execute channel strategy that ultimately influences and resonates. You will thrive in our environment of autonomous working and will delight in the variety of relationships you will care for.

You are curious, intentional and most of all relentless in finding creative solutions to complex problems. You can distill technical information and translate it to colleagues and clients in a way that is clear and effective. You are a master of puzzles — finding all the pieces and fitting them together to make something beautiful.

As an out-of-the-box thinker and motivated person, you will be joining our values-driven agency of unicorns, flamingos, data nerds and responsible grown-ups directly supporting our executive team and clients. This position is based in our downtown Columbia, S.C., headquarters, and reports to the director of channel strategy. Compensation is based on experience, but a range is available upon request.

Roles and Responsibilities

Advertising

  • Develop advertising plans for clients ranging from small to large budgets, recommending

    various combinations of social media, traditional advertising, digital ad tactics and other

    marketing methods.

  • Execute advertising plans across a variety of clients, including managing deadlines,

    budgeting and reporting.

  • Seek new ways to be competitive in the market and grow advertising sales.

  • Perform business development for new or expanded ad clients under the direction of the

    CEO.

  • Stay abreast of current trends in the advertising industry, including trends and

    opportunities in the markets the agency serves.

  • Ensure advertising rate card and media kit folders are maintained and up to date.

  • Partner with CFO to ensure proper invoicing and tracking reporting standards for ad

    department.

  • Train and teach internal staff on advertising best practices.

Preffered Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of different digital marketing channels.

  • Proven experience with online marketing tools and knowledge of best practices.

  • Experience in Midlands and broader SC media markets.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively in a creative agency environment.

This is a full-time, nonexempt position, and requires occasional night/weekend hours. Candidate must live in the Columbia, South Carolina region. While the firm observes a hybrid and flexible work environment, employee must be regularly available for local meetings and client needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in developing and implementing traditional advertising

    strategies.

  • 3-5+ years of expertise in developing and implementing digital advertising strategies.

  • Experience managing projects, clients or vendors and deadlines.

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-directed while managing projects from initiation to completion.

  • Demonstrate professionalism in working with clients, vendors and team members.
