Flock and Rally’s VP of Marketing, Merritt McNeely, receives “Women of Influence” honor

Merritt McNeely, vice president of marketing at Flock and Rally, a women-owned integrated communications and marketing firm based in Columbia, S.C., has been named as one of Columbia Regional Business Report’s 2019 Women of Influence.

Annually, the Columbia Regional Business Report honors 25 women who work to improve the Midlands and excel in their careers. Readers of the Business Report submit nominees, and a panel of judges makes the final selection.

“Merritt McNeely is known across South Carolina as an accomplished marketing and advertising professional who achieves massive results,” says Tracie Broom, co-founding partner at Flock and Rally. “She is a visionary, compassionate leader and a major asset for our team, clients and our region. Our team is thrilled that her work is being recognized in this way.”

McNeely is known as an authority on marketing strategy, audience targeting and advertising, with close to 15 years in marketing, communications and organizational leadership. Along with her role as Flock and Rally’s VP of marketing, she serves as the president of the Congaree Vista Guild. In the past, she served on the boards of the Columbia Design League, the Animal Mission and the Babcock Center Foundation.

Prior to joining Flock and Rally in April 2018, McNeely worked as the director of marketing for the South Carolina State Museum from 2013 to 2018 and was the founder and co-chair of the award-winning Total Eclipse Weekend Columbia, S.C. campaign. Before working for the museum, McNeely served as the executive director of the Five Points Association for eight years.

McNeely has earned numerous honors throughout her professional career, including being named one of Columbia Business Monthly’s “50 Most Influential” in 2011 and one of the State Media Company’s 20 under 40 in 2018. Her project teams have won multiple awards from the International Association of Business Communicators’ South Carolina chapter as well as from the South Carolina Public Relations Society of America.

McNeely currently is spearheading statewide and regional campaigns for Flock and Rally clients such as the South Carolina State Fair, the South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association, the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA), Central Carolina Community Foundation, Village Idiot Pizza and more.

Profiles for all Women of Influence honorees were published in the Aug. 12, 2019 issue of Columbia Regional Business Report; they will be honored at a luncheon on Aug. 22.
