Famously Hot New Year in Columbia, S.C.

Flock and Rally has managed integrated communications for the Famously Hot New Year celebration, S.C.'s largest NYE party, since 2014.

For the 2015 campaign, Flock and Rally was retained to run an integrated communications campaign, managing all marketing, PR, design, advertising campaign development and social media services with an incredible group of project partners. Our team earned a 2015 Mercury Award of Excellence in Integrated Campaigns for Famously Hot New Year from the SC Public Relations Society of America as well as a Star of the Show Palmetto Award from the IABC-SC.

With headliner Lauryn Hill, attendance skyrocketed to 35,000, and media coverage was secured by Flock and Rally, the Columbia CVB and Discover SC in publications such as Southern Living’s “The Daily South” blog, NYC’s Uptown Magazine, Huffington Post TravelBritish Airways’ Highlife, Spa Travel GalTravelocityThe State, Free Times, Columbia Living Magazine and S.C. Living Magazine.

In response to Oct. 2015’s historic flooding, a sub-campaign was developed with #SCStrong branding to support flood relief.

Prior to 2015, after serving as the social media agency in 2013 and resuming the role for 2014, Flock and Rally was asked to assume full marketing and branding duties midway through the 2014 campaign. Our solution was to bring on professional partners for PR, advertising and graphic design, each at the top of their game, resulting in an outreach campaign that drew 28,000 guests. Many of these partners continue to be an integral part of the #FHNY team.
